Getting Your License
When buying a liquor license, it’s important to keep an eye on the price and location. Florida has a limited number of licenses, so staying on top of the game will help businesses get ahead in the purchasing game. Different counties will often have their own licenses and businesses that want to buy or sell licenses. Business owners can find liquor licenses for sale through Liquor License Professionals, making the process of buying a liquor license even easier and more accessible than ever before.
Types of Licenses
There are several types of liquor licenses that can grant you permission to sell alcoholic beverages. At Liquor License Professionals, we can help you buy or sell your license depending on your establishment type and get you all set up. The types of liquor licenses available include:
The 1COP License: The 1COP License is the most basic type of liquor license and allows businesses to sell beer for consumption on their premises. This license also means that “if local ordinances allow it, then the license authorizes package sales as well. Similarly, license fees for these licenses will vary based on population and county.” The 1COP License is a good choice for small businesses, restaurants, and others.
2APS License for Beer & Wine: 2APS Licenses allow establishments to sell beer and wine in sealed containers to consume off the premises. This means that a business can make the most of its license during the holidays without having to provide anything else. This is a great choice for smaller hospitality-based establishments, grocery stores, and more.
(3) Quota Series Licenses: Also known as 3DPS, 3CPS, 3BPS, 3APS, and 3PS licenses, these types of licenses are great options for liquor stores, and other places that would like to sell beer, wine, and liquor for consumption off-site. This group of licenses incurs temporary fees that vary based on population and county.
(COP) Quota Series Licenses: The 8COP, 7COP, 6COP, 5COP, and 4COP series of licenses is meant for businesses to sell beer, wine, and liquor on their premises and allows for consumption on-site as well. Drinks can also be sold in sealed containers to take off-premises as well. These types of licenses are perfect for bars, restaurants, nightclubs, and more.
The Special Motel / Hotel “S” Series Licenses: The Special Hotel/Motel licenses are for hotels, motels, and motor courts. With these licenses, consumers can purchase three types of alcoholic drinks for consumption on the premises. For these licenses, a hotel or motel must have at least eighty rooms available.
The Historic Motel / Hotel Series Licenses: The more specific Historic Motel / Hotel series of licenses allows beer, wine, and liquor alcoholic beverages to be sold for consumption on-premise within the hotel or motel and package sales. The hotel or motel must make at least 51% of their gross revenues from room rentals to qualify.
